Building business with Bobibao
27 June 2025

Bobibao’s Taiwanese restaurant on Second Street will have a front-row seat to significant growth in the precinct over the coming years, and business owner Emma Del Bono couldn’t be happier.
“It will be exciting to have more people here,” says Emma.
Three new developments will rise from the vacant allotments across the road from Bobibao and will be home to hundreds of new residents.
“It means more energy, more life, it will make this vibrant community even more colourful,” Ms Del Bono added.
Bobibao Taiwanese restaurant has been warmly welcomed into the Bowden community since opening on Second Street two years ago.
Their success and popularity are evident by booked out lunch and dinner services and hundreds of positive reviews online.
“Great little restaurant tucked away in the backstreets behind The Gov,” one reviewer says.
“Had the beef noodle soup and it was fabulous,” says another.
The highest review comes from a guest who dined three months ago: “All round five stars,” it says.
“Delicious food with attentive staff. Highly recommend the sashimi and squid. Cocktails are also very refreshing,” the review describes.
Ms Del Bono, who also manages the restaurant says business has been great and attributes Bobibao’s success to its supportive local clientele.
“Local people value the business here, they support each other, they welcome all the different cultures’ cuisine. It’s lovely,” she says.
Bobibao offers coffee, food, and drinks from 11 am until 8 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am until 9 pm on Saturdays, while opening some Sundays for private functions.
Their Instagram profile boasts more than 6,000 followers and humbly describes itself as ‘that bao place in Adelaide,’ quite the understatement when you realise it has so much more to offer.
In fact, their bao selection is just the first four items on the menu. Below are dozens of contemporary street food style options that would satisfy the taste buds of vegetarians, carnivores, and noodle bowl enthusiasts alike.
Bobibao was crowned South Australia’s Best Asian Restaurant at the 2024 Restaurant and Catering Australia Host Plus Awards for Excellence.
Bookings are available at bobibao.com.au, and they offer a selection of items for takeaway all day.
Look out for special events like ‘All You Can Eat Dumplings’ and ‘Night Market Banquet’ via their Instagram @bobibao_au.
