The first off-the-plan sales in the $1 billion Bowden development have today been released to the market.

Housing and Urban Development Minister Patrick Conlon announced 16 apartments are now available to purchase, giving buyers their first chance to secure a home in this vibrant, walkable community on the city’s doorstep.

“This is a huge milestone for the Bowden project and highlights that this development is truly coming to life,” Mr Conlon said.

“Bowden is one of the most significant urban development projects in the State’s history and will showcase to buyers the benefits of higher-density urban living.

“Most of these new homes are priced in the low to mid $400,000 range and we are also able to offer affordable products for as little as $320,000.”

Mr Conlon said buyers will benefit from the recently-announced housing construction grant reforms and stamp duty concessions.

“These initiatives will make it even more affordable for South Australians to get involved in this exciting new development.

“In particular, they present a great opportunity for first home buyers looking to purchase off-the-plan apartments in the city and Riverbank precincts, as they may be eligible to receive up to $39,830.”

Mr Conlon said developer ACDEV will deliver the first 16 new apartments.

Architecturally-designed terrace and apartment homes will be available for purchase from other developers at Bowden in the near future.

“Buyers can be assured that they will get quality, well-designed homes as all developers are required to meet the guidelines of the Bowden Design Review Panel,” Mr Conlon said.

Construction of the 16 apartments will begin in early to mid-next year with the first residents expected to move in later next year.

More than 2,400 homes will ultimately be built in the Bowden development over 15 years for about 3,500 new residents.
