South Australian property developer Emmett will embark on a second apartment project at Bowden after the runaway success of their first project, The Merchant apartments, which sold out in just under four months.
Renewal SA project director for Bowden Alicia Davidge said the project would be the first mixed-use development at Bowden with commercial premises operating on the ground floor.
“In a wonderful vote of confidence by industry in the State Government’s flagship development at Bowden, Emmett Property will build premium apartments with views over the park lands,” Ms Davidge said.
“This repeat purchase by Emmett Property shows the investment confidence that developers have in Bowden.
“More and more people are seeing the benefits of living on the edge of the CBD in high quality, architecturally designed apartments and terraces.”
Emmett Property estimates the project will support about 80 direct and indirect jobs during construction. As part of Renewal SA’s Works Program, Emmett will offer four work experience placements for people from the western suburbs.
Emmett Managing Director Nick Emmett said the Park Central apartments would be the first premium Park Terrace fronted apartments at Bowden.
“Park Central will offer uninterrupted views across the park lands and be the first premium apartments on Park Terrace, so we are expecting strong interest from buyers,” Mr Emmett said.
“Our $15 million Merchant Apartments at Bowden sold out off the plan, so we knew that we wanted to play an even bigger part in the revitalisation of inner-west city rim precinct.
“Our aim is to design and build a product that offers contemporary lifestyle advantages to the people who live in our developments, through considered design, quality finishes and innovative approaches.”
Following endorsement by Bowden’s independent Design Review Panel, Park Central will be released to market in early 2016 featuring 65 apartments in a 12-storey building, with 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms available, and prices starting at $348,000.
The Park Central apartments will be adjacent to the first stage of Bowden’s retail precinct at Plant 4 and Bowden Park, both of which are already under construction.
Agents Connekt will sell the apartments on behalf of Emmett Property. Connekt also sold The Merchant apartments. Construction is expected to begin in mid-2016.
