Renewal SA will shortly be releasing the largest site yet to be offered to developers at Bowden since the urban renewal of the area began in 2012. The land can accommodate up to three or four apartment buildings of between four and eight storeys.

This land release in Bowden comes on the back of the successful sell-out of land to developers in Stage 1, demonstrating the success of the higher density vision for Bowden.

More than 180 homes have been sold at Bowden so far, all of which were sold prior to construction.

The site that will be offered to developers for sale will offer four street frontages, including Bowden’s new town square and proximity to the future retail precinct.

At just over 5,000 square metres (one of the largest in Adelaide in recent years), this land release will ensure there continues to be quality apartments available to meet future demand.

The apartments will maintain Bowden’s use of sustainable design principles, including solar access, natural healthy ventilation, wind control, visual and acoustic privacy, whilst being energy and water efficient.

The staged development of the site will enable cost efficiencies to be achieved with the successful developer providing a well-designed central open space within the site. This will assist in fostering a sense of community while further activating the location.

It is anticipated that the developer would release apartments for sale off-the-plan in mid-2015. Construction for the first stage is expected to begin in late 2015/early 2016.
