On 15 January 2018 the new Bowden Railway Station opened.

As part of the Torrens Rail Junction Project the Bowden Station was closed in April 2017.

The new Bowden rail station has been built between Gibson Street and Park Terrace to provide improved connectivity with Bowden, the Entertainment Centre, Adelaide Park Lands, local businesses and sporting clubs.

A new shared path for pedestrians and cyclists will run adjacent and across the rail line, linking to Bowden Station, Bowden the suburb, and Adelaide Park Lands (via a dedicated shared path under Park Terrace).

Though the old platforms have been demolished the old station building, which houses popular local cafe The Loose Caboose, is still standing.
