It’s a pop-up community garden and popping up it is! Embraced with a passion by local residents and businesses, the first plots are now furrowed and planted with all manner of veggies, herbs and fruits.
Although temporary (with permanent gardens earmarked for the nearby parklands), the garden is a flurry of activity, offering community garden enthusiasts somewhere to garden and socialise.
Said keen gardener Meg Clements, “We enjoy time together in the sunshine, nurturing our flowers and vegetables and watching them grow.” But it’s not all digging and dahlias. “We’re also meeting new friends in the local community and sharing baby ‘cinos at Plant 13 café.”
