Christopher Alchin has a blossoming career path thanks to Bowden’s pop-up community garden. The newly built garden is part of the Works Program, offering training and employment pathways for local job seekers.

Eight people completed the program, which was delivered by job agency Maxima. They each received a Certificate II in Horticulture, but Christopher had a surprise bonus.

“I stumbled across landscaping and fell in love with it. (Through this program) I’ve got work with the Adelaide City Council.”
