Renewal SA Works Program: Community Garden Live Training Site

Renewal SA’s Works Program proudly supports training and employment initiatives for local people.

The Community Garden Live Training Site Program is being delivered at Bowden in partnership with Civil Train SA and WorkReady.

Specifically targeting people over 17 years from the Bowden area and the wider western suburbs, participants should be keen to work outdoors, have a reasonable level of fitness and not be currently enrolled in school.

Participants must be registered with a jobactive provider.

About the program

This program will:

  • deliver preliminary stages of the Adelaide Park Lands Community Garden, subject to approvals from Adelaide City Council
  • deliver a Certificate II in Civil Construction (RII20713)
  • deliver tickets and/or experience in:
    • White Card – Work Safely in the Construction Industry [CPCCOHS1001A]
    • Work Zone Traffic Management:
      • Implement Traffic Management Plan [RIIWHS302D]
      • Control Traffic with Stop-slow Bat [RIIWHS205D]
    • Operate Elevating Work Platform (below 11 meters) [RIIHAN301D]
    • Work Safely at Heights [RIIWHS204D]
    • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces [RIIWHS202D]
    • Support Plant Operations [RIICCM206D]
  • provide hands-on experience on a construction site to develop new skills to improve future job opportunities
  • work experience and employment networking opportunities following completion.

Classroom training is held at CCF House (Civil Train), Thebarton.

Live Training Site delivered at Park 27b Tulya Wardli, Adelaide Park Lands.

Cost

Subsidised through the WorkReady Jobs First STL Projects 2015–2016.

When

This Program will commence on Monday, 29 February 2016 and runs Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm for six weeks.
