The Renewal SA Works Program at Bowden proudly supports training and employment initiatives for local people. The UCWB Disability Support Worker Pre-employment Program is being delivered at Bowden in partnership with Western Futures, Uniting Care Wesley Bowden (UCWB) and TAFE SA.
This Renewal SA Works Program is specifically targetting local people aged 18 or over within Bowden and surrounding western suburbs.
Participants may already have a background in caring, aged care, disability or youth and have a desire to support people within the community.
People who are support workers need to be able to bend, stretch and work on their feet for long periods so they can provide personal care and support for people in their homes.
Disability support workers help people to learn new skills, participate in the community and explore new life experiences.
We are also seeking support workers for older people and people living with mental illness.
All Renewal SA Works Program participants are required to be computer literate, have a drivers licence and will require a clear Department of Social Inclusion (DCSI) Police Screen.
This Program will:
- provide real employment opportunities with Uniting Care Wesley Bowden
- deliver industry specific training, designed in partnership with TAFE SA
- provide accredited Senior First Aid Training, Food Safety and Manual Handling.
This program will commence on 3 August 2015 and run full-time for three weeks.
