Unity amongst new neighbours at Bowden

26 May 2023

For a living, staff at Unity Housing seek to make positive contributions to the communities they are a part of. It’s only fitting then, that employees of the Community Housing Provider are making it a priority to get to know their new neighbours at Bowden.

Unity Housing’s 100-strong workforce is scheduled to relocate to a custom-built headquarters on the corner of Gibson and Second Streets mid this year, as part of an amalgamation of five satellite offices into a central location.

In readiness for the move, dozens of staff took to the streets of Bowden for a fun-filled scavenger-hunt on 17 May, testing their Bowden trivia and taking selfies at local landmarks and businesses in exchange for chocolate treats scattered throughout the precinct.

“We really wanted our team members to explore their new work surrounds before they moved in, so they were aware of all the amenities available to them, whether that be the coffee options at Plants 3 and 4, or where they can park to drop their kids off at childcare within the precinct,” Unity Housing’s Project Manager Andrew Davis said. “We want them to be comfortable from the outset so they can continue to deliver affordable, safe, and secure homes for South Australians.”

Unity Housing’s two-storey head office will be Bowden’s first fully commercial office building.

Renewal SA Bowden Project Director Chantal Milton said Unity Housing’s highly anticipated arrival would deliver a new form of activation at Bowden.

“The building’s opening is an exciting upcoming milestone. An expanding locally based workforce will strengthen daytime activation and trading, cementing Bowden as a shining example of a community where people can live, work, and play,” Ms Milton said.
