Why is parking changing at Bowden?
Bowden’s urban renewal is in its final stages. As part of this, a permanent 221‑space multi deck carpark is being built between Second and Third Streets (currently known as Lot 51) to support visitors, local businesses and residents.
To enable construction, temporary parking on vacant land within Bowden is progressively closing as development begins on new homes across the precinct.
Where is the best place to park visiting Bowden?
A new UPark Bowden is located on the corner of Second Street and Drayton Street, opposite Oddio.
The carpark provides 146 spaces, with some areas available 24/7.
How much does it cost to park at UPark Bowden?
Parking is free for one hour, or up to two hours with validation from participating businesses within the precinct.
Rates are:
• Up to 1 hour – free
• 1–2 hours – $2
• 2–3 hours – $4
• 3–4 hours – $6
• 4–12 hours – $8
• 12–24 hours – $10
• Early bird – $5
How do I pay for carparking?
You can pay using the QR codes displayed at UPark Bowden.
Alternatively, a ticket machine is available on site. Enter your vehicle registration, select your parking duration and tap to pay using a card or phone.
How long does it take to walk from the carpark to the centre of Bowden?
Parking is about a five-minute walk between UPark Bowden and the heart of the residential precinct.
UPark Bowden is monitored by security patrols and cameras, however we always recommend locking your car and keeping any valuables out of sight.
When did the changes happen?
Changes to parking arrangements at Bowden took effect in May 2026.
When will the new multideck carpark at Lot 51, between Second and Third Streets open?
The permanent multi deck carpark at Lot 51, between Second and Third Streets, is expected to open in late 2027.
