A whole decade ago, Jarmer’s Kitchen opened their doors at Bowden with the mission to create a cozy bistro where family and friends could gather to enjoy the pleasures of good food. Now, as they celebrate ten years in business, the team at Jarmer’s Kitchen reflects on a journey marked by passion, community, and truly memorable dining experiences. 

As a third-generation chef, food runs through Chris Jarmer’s veins. At just 14, he left school to learn the trade from the ground up, experiencing everything from peeling vegetables and washing dishes to managing large-scale catering events. Chris’ father, esteemed chef Peter Jarmer, taught him that cooking should be simple and passionate, a philosophy that has since become the cornerstone of Jarmer’s Kitchen. 

When Jarmer’s Kitchen opened in 2014, the vision was clear: to create a family-friendly bistro that feels like home, where guests could savour delicious meals and enjoy quality time with loved ones. The goal was to offer a space where great food and fine wine are accompanied by the joy of communal dining, reflecting the warmth and hospitality of the Jarmer family.

Over the space of ten years, Jarmer’s Kitchen has remained a key part of the Bowden community. The restaurant continues to delight patrons with cherished family recipes and dishes inspired by Chris’ travels. The Jarmer’s Kitchen team take great pride in their ability to bring people together through food that celebrates both tradition and creativity.

In addition, the restaurant offers variety of event spaces, including The Jarmer Room, The Private Room, and the Hamptons Room, making it an ideal venue for any occasion. With convenient on-site parking and easy event packages, they ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for anyone that walks through their doors.
